In contemporary psychology, the Dual Process Theory—developed by Stanovich and colleagues—offers a powerful framework for understanding how we think and make decisions.
🔹 System 1 is fast, intuitive, automatic, and often unconscious.
🔹 System 2 is slower, reflective, analytical, and deliberate.
This model became a central lens through which I approached my own research. I explored how individual differences in reflective vs. impulsive thinking styles influence behavior, particularly in contexts requiring careful judgment or rapid responses.
By integrating the dual process perspective, I was able to better interpret the cognitive patterns underlying certain psychological traits and decision-making tendencies.
This experience deepened my understanding of cognitive processing and opened up new possibilities for measuring and analyzing thought styles—an area I plan to keep developing in future work.
