Public Speaking: Turning Nerves into Influence
Public speaking is a skill that intimidated me at first, as it does for many people. But over time, through academic presentations, panel discussions, and student-led events, I’ve transformed that initial anxiety into confident communication.
At the University of East Sarajevo, I’ve regularly taken part in student conferences and research presentations, most notably during the 12th International Student Conference, where I presented my own research in front of academic peers and faculty. These experiences taught me how to structure a clear argument, respond to critical questions, and deliver complex content in an engaging way.
Additionally, through my leadership role in the Psychological Society of the Republic of Srpska, I have organized and hosted public events such as a dramatized performance for World Family Day and a panel discussion for Autism Awareness Day. These required me to speak to diverse audiences — students, professors, and members of the public — adapting my tone and language depending on the context.
Today, public speaking is one of my strongest tools, allowing me to confidently communicate ideas, inspire discussion, and represent my work with clarity and poise.
